So glad to see the sun
Not far from Edmonton
Shining on snow I see
That's falling down across from me
A cold blanket of white
Calming the city lights
Slowing down the busy roads
Pleasing eyes and bracing souls
Sometimes I think we all
Could use a thick snowfall
To slow us down at least
And make us stop and see
But what's the good of snow
If still what's down below
Stirs around in disarray
And will surface someday
We better catch this at the root
'Cause violence stops and money mutes
Cries out for another way
To treat each other day by day
And sometime all this snow will melt
Things will clear and hope will sprout
As long as there is air to breathe
Light to eat and healthy seeds
