Have you ever sat down by the side of the road
Waiting for gas to get where you go
And thought the view of the highway, the ditch and the stars
Sure looked a lot better when we sat in out cars
Horizontal plane that cuts right across
This beautiful land where nobody stops
And as long as we're kids we'll keep looking for toys
The biggest mountains, cities and short-lived joys
Stop stop here
The sky's so clear
Like a cloud in the wind floats away my fear
Categorically
Rank and filing me
Only limits and serves someone else's needs
But if I don't believe
What some conceive
To be the only way for me to live and breathe
Still there's something sure
Like whatever turns the world
Serendipitous meetings, how tides roll and curl
The rain drops, sun spots
The sphere that blocks the top
Of all the air from being lost
Have you ever sat down by the side of the road
Watching the cars, wondering where they go
And thought well if they pass here even for a second
That's where they're going, they are and where they've been
